Matt’s most recent collection for adults is Footsteps and Fuddles (Derbyshire County Council, 2013), inspired by being Derbyshire Poet Laureate, which includes “Where Candlenights Flicker“, which won 1st Prize in the Buxton Poetry Competition. His previous books for adults are Swimmer (Upside Down, 2009) and the poetic novella Plot 161 (Spout, 2001). His work is widely published in magazines, and recorded on CDs. Full publication CV


His most recent book for children is The Owl and the Pussycat and the Turtles of Fun (Two Rivers Press, 2014), which features his prequel and sequel to Lear’s poem, as well as Lear’s original, with gorgeous lino-cut illustrations by Pip Hall. His previous collection Goblin In The Fridge (Upside Down, 2006) was a Poetry Society Children’s Bookshelf Summer Choice. His poems for children are in anthologies by Scholastic, Hodder and Stoughton, Macmillan, OUP.
