Matt’s commissioned work include poems and texts (based on the history of markets in Sheffield) carved into 15 Kilkenny limestone benches in Sheffield City Centre, a poem cast in 7  bronze tablets set in the pavement (Guildford), and a poem to go with a performance with Ralph Steadman creating a literature distillery. Amongst other commissions there have been poems for Valentine’s Day banners, a poster poem  for the National Year of Reading, a local history play for Bolton-on-Dearne, and a sound and word tape for Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield. He has also spent a week writing poems on a bus, devised site-specific poems and performances for a laundrette, a cemetery, the Big Jurassic Festival, allotments, elections – and other occasions too.
