News in March 2018

Excited on 3 or 4 fronts at the moment…

  1. Next month my new collection Tales from the Leaking Boot is published by Iron Press. It’s a joyous bundle of mischievous and observational haiku from travels in Texas, Germany, Turkey and finally – you guessed it, Cleethorpes!
  2. My play The Storm Officer is touring this year, and will have 7 showings, in Nottingham, Aberystwyth, Ledbury, Chesterfield, hopefully the Minack Theatre, set into the cliffs in Cornwall, and then probably Norwich and Exeter (tbc). Please do come and see it! It’s a story of the floods in Cumbria in 2015, creating a mixture of reflections on the very difficult impacts of flooding and extreme weather, as well as plenty of humour and songs.
  3. I’m just starting a lovely job, working as Reader-in-Residence at the gorgeous Treehouse Bookshop in Kenilworth, which is a lovely second-hand bookshop, and we’ll be creating a Pop-Up Bookshop, running lots of exciting events over the summer, and doing some door to door bookshop visits around Kenilworth as well.
